Chennai, March 31, 2017:  IndiGo- India’s largest and fastest growing carrier has launched a fully equipped gym for the Police officials in Chennai today.  With an endeavour to infuse IndiGo fitness belief and inspire the police personnel to adopt a more physically active lifestyle, this gym has been set up within the office premise of the local police station in Chennai.

Expressing their excitement, Shri PSC Kalyan, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police said, “Fitness is indeed crucial for the police force. The FitToFly gyms will be fully equipped with multi-purpose machines, cross trainer, treadmill, bench press and other facilities.  As part of this multi-city campaign to promote fitness and healthy lifestyle - IndiGo launched its first gym at Jaipur international airport, in February this year.

Cathay Pacific Chief Executive Ivan Chu and Carsten Spohr, Chairman of the Executive Board and CEO of the Lufthansa Group, signed a new co-operation agreement at today’s press conference in Frankfurt, Germany.

Cathay Pacific today signed a co-operation agreement with the Lufthansa Group that will see the airline codeshare on flights operated by Lufthansa, Swiss and Austrian Airlines to a number of destinations in continental Europe. Reciprocally, the Lufthansa Group will codeshare on Cathay Pacific services to four of the airline’s most popular destinations in Southwest Pacific.

Under the agreement, Cathay Pacific will offer 14 new destinations in Germany, Belgium, Hungary, Norway, Italy, Switzerland and Austria with the “CX” code placed on the following services operated by airlines in the Lufthansa Group:


Between Frankfurt and:

Berlin, Brussels, Budapest, Dresden, Hannover, Hamburg, Munich, Nuremberg, Oslo and Stuttgart.


Between Zurich and:
Berlin, Brussels, Florence, Geneva, Hamburg, Stuttgart and Venice.

Austrian Airlines

Between Vienna and:
Frankfurt, Zurich and Düsseldorf.

The Lufthansa Group will place its airlines’ codes on services operated by Cathay Pacific between Hong Kong and Auckland as well as between Hong Kong and Cairns, Melbourne and Sydney. Under a single booking, passengers from Frankfurt, Munich, Vienna and Zurich will be able to check through and seamlessly transfer to their final destination in Auckland or Australia via Hong Kong International Airport.

Today’s co-operation agreement also extends to both airlines’ frequent flyer programmes. Passengers who are members of Cathay Pacific’s travel and lifestyle rewards programme, Asia Miles and Lufthansa Group’s loyalty programme, Miles and More, will be eligible to earn and redeem miles when travelling on the above codeshare routes. Members of Cathay Pacific’s loyalty programme, Marco Polo Club, can also earn Club Points when travelling on codeshare flights marketed by Cathay Pacific and operated by Lufthansa Group.

Cathay Pacific Chief Executive Ivan Chu said the airline is delighted to grow its relationship with the Lufthansa Group, one of world’s largest and most respected airline groups.

“This new codeshare agreement will offer Cathay Pacific passengers enhanced connectivity to destinations in continental Europe through flights operated by Lufthansa, Swiss and Austrian Airlines via our gateways in Frankfurt, Düsseldorf and Zurich. At the same time, Lufthansa Group customers travelling from Europe to Southwest Pacific will have more convenient access to flights to Australia and New Zealand through our super hub in Hong Kong.”

The Cathay Pacific Cargo and Lufthansa Cargo airfreight subsidiaries signed a co-operation agreement back in May 2016 and, since February 2017, have been jointly marketing their capacities on flights between Hong Kong and Europe. Cathay Pacific has also taken over Lufthansa’s airfreight handling operations in Hong Kong; in Frankfurt, Lufthansa has taken over those of Cathay Pacific. Joint shipments from Europe to Hong Kong are planned from 2018.

Cathay Pacific today operated its inaugural service from Hong Kong to Tel Aviv – the latest destination in the airline’s expanding global network. Flight CX675, a non-stop service flown by the advanced Airbus A350 aircraft, departed Hong Kong at 01:00, touching down at Ben Gurion Airport on schedule at 07:53 local time.

Hosted by Cathay Pacific Director Corporate Development and IT Paul Loo, the airline was honoured to welcome Mr Israel Katz, Transport Minister and Mr Yariv Levin, Tourism Minister from the government of Israel as officiating guests at the celebration event. Mr Sagi Karni, Consul General of the State of Israel in Hong Kong also flew in on the first flight from Hong Kong to Tel Aviv to join the celebration.

Originally launched as a four-times-weekly service, Mr Loo said the strength of advance bookings on the route has prompted Cathay Pacific to increase frequency to five times per week from 1 September to 17 November 2017.

“We have been highly encouraged by the overwhelming reception that our new Tel Aviv service has received. Increasing the frequency of our operations to five times a week will provide greater convenience to business and leisure customers travelling between these two great cities – and give passengers from Israel easier access to destinations in Southwest Pacific and across Asia through our hub in Hong Kong,” said Mr Loo.

Cathay Pacific, which operates one of the youngest long-haul fleets in the world, believes that travelling well is an important part of living well, and passengers can be assured of a premium experience onboard the A350. The environmentally-friendly aircraft is equipped with the airline's latest cabin products, an enhanced inflight entertainment system and Wi-Fi connectivity in Business, Premium Economy and Economy classes.

The airline has taken delivery of 12 Airbus A350 aircraft to date with 10 more to arrive by the end of 2017, which will help Cathay Pacific open up new markets and strengthen Hong Kong’s position as Asia’s premier aviation hub.

The airline recently announced new A350-operated seasonal services to Barcelona from July and Christchurch from December.

Cathay Pacific will also add extra flights on popular routes to destinations across North America, Europe and Southwest Pacific to give its customers more choice and flexibility when planning their travels.

Santanu's music is a true blend of the Western and Indian Classical music and his repertoire includes pieces from Spanish Classics to abstract Hindustani Music, from South American guitar music to Jhumur of Bengal. He is accompanied by the French bass guitarist Pierre-Antoine Lasnier and tabla maestro and multi-percussionist Subhasis Bhattacharjee.


After graduating from the Indian Institute of Technology in 2011, Santanu moved to Paris to study Western Art Music and received training in Composition, Harmony, Counterpoint,

Fugue, Orchestration, Analysis, Guitar and Chamber music.In 2016, Santanu completed the Diplôme Supérieur (Masters) in Composition from the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris with unanimous voting of the jury. Santanu also studied the Classical Guitar performance extensively and holds Diplôme d'Etude Musicale (D.E.M.) from the Conservatoire de Ville-d'Avray and L.T.C.L. from the Trinity College London. 27th March, 2017 Mumbai: KidZania Delhi NCR, a Global Indoor Theme park, joined hands with leading stationery and art material marketer -- Kokuyo Camlin to create a unique initiative – `Unwrapping Happiness’ at KidZania, Delhi NCR. In a month long activity conducted by KidZania, children visiting the theme park were encouraged to wrap over 2000 goodies bags with Camlin products, which were then distributed to underprivileged children from the NGO Saraswati Bal Niketan at a glittering event.

The portal has grown from strength to strength with its success clearly attributed to a dedicated staff of returnees. The company that started off with a power-packed team of 5 women returnees, is now an energetic 31 member team of restarters, ready to take on the world. In the past two years the team has managed to successfully associate with renowned blue chip companies like Intuit, Sapient, PayPal, Mindtree etc. for their returnee programs.

Elaborating on what spurred the idea of JobsForHer, its Founder Neha Bagaria said, “I found out that 50% of all working women in India drop out of the workforce within 3 years. This is an extremely qualified, experienced and capable talent pool that our economy cannot afford to lose out on. My own experience in getting back to work after taking a 3.6-year of career break was so positive that it made me determined to enable other women to restart their careers as well. Thus, I founded JobsForHer in March 2015, to connect women with all that they required in order to get back to work and achieve their full potential.” A study by UNDP shows that India’s GDP can grow by 27%, if female participation matched males.

Over the last 2 years, JFH found that 57% of women returnees are looking at restarting their careers on a full-time basis and 22% through work-from-home opportunities.

In its 3rd year, JFH is committed to doing everything necessary to enable women to restart their careers and plans to expand its reach, size, and scale up its offerings, to create a larger impact. They plan to partner with more returnee-friendly companies across India to open up their doors to women looking to restart their careers; as well as offer mentorship, networking, inspiration, and career resources to women to help them bridge the gap that is keeping them from embarking on the second phase of their careers. Additionally, it also intends to maintain its 10 times growth this fiscal year as well.
