UAE, January 25, 2016 – In line with its corporate social responsibility efforts, Imdaad, a leading provider of integrated facilities, environment and energy solutions in the GCC, joined thousands of runners from across the country to participate in the 2016 Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon which took place on January 22, 2016. The company used the marathon as a platform to address global environmental issues as well as highlight the importance of waste segregation as a way to achieve sustainability.

‘Khaddour’ – a fun-loving green leaf character and the mascot of Imdaad’s flagship CSR program, Be’ati (‘My Environment’), was prominently present at the marathon to educate and inform participants and audience about the significance of waste recycling. The company’s employees actively ran in the marathon along with the mascot to promote the message of environmental sustainability. Khaddour also highlighted the global efforts to protect the environment through engaging activities. In 2015, Khaddour visited 55 schools in the UAE and met 30,000 students as part of Bea’ti School Program to raise awareness about sustainable environmental practices among them.

Jamal Abdullah Lootah, CEO, Imdaad, said; “Imdaad has actively involved itself in CSR initiatives launched by other public and private sector organizations. The Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon is one such event that has positioned itself as a premier road race in Dubai’s annual calendar and we were extremely delighted to participate in yet another edition of the marathon. It also gave us an excellent opportunity to interact with the participants, especially parents with young kids, to raise awareness about the current environmental challenges and educate them to adopt sustainable practices for a greener, better planet for the next generation.”
