The wait is over! Meet the winners of Tangerine’s “Capture Your City” Photo Contest

Mumbai, January 27,2016:  The art of capturing great pictures met the craft of creating great home spaces with national level press photography contest, “Capture Your City” held by Tangerine, designer brand for home solutions. The month-long nationwide contest invited photo entries from press photographers across India who captured the soul of their cities through the lens. Winners have been selected from 182 entries and 472 pictures received from various cities across India.

Entries were invited around the theme, ‘City Tadka’ where press photographers were to capture the essence of their cities in a colorful way.  After a series of evaluation rounds by the jury, first prize was bagged by Mr. Sandeep G Desai from Goa. He wins a cash prize of INR. 1,00,000/- for sharing a breath-taking monsoon picture of his home-town. The second runner-up Mr. Shantanu Das from Mumbai wins a cash prize of INR 75000/. He brilliantly captured the life-line of Mumbai through his lens. The third runner-up Mr. Subhash Paul from New Delhi wins a cash prize of INR. 50000/. He shared an electrifying night life of the most popular place The India Gate at Delhi.

Besides the top 3 winners, jury and public vote’s shortlisted runner-up from six cities qualified who have bagged gift hampers worth INR-5000/ includes:

Mr. Vivek Nigam and Mr. Nipun Channa from Delhi
Mr.S.L Shanth Kumar, Mr. Ankit Datta and Mr. Monojit Kumar Saha from Kolkata

Winning entries that made it to the final round of evaluation will be seen on an exclusive collection of mugs and cushions by Tangerine titled, Indie Tadka. The collection will also be launched in shortly and will be available in stores and online platforms.

The competition was judged by esteemed photographers and professionals; Mr. Ritam Banerjee, Ms. Tina Dehal and Mr. Rajiv Bagayatkar. Judging consisted of evaluation based on creativity and photographic quality. Images submitted by the photographers were selected for their creativity, artistry and technical complexity.

“’Capture Your City’ fetched such a wonderful response from all over India. It was an exciting and colourful journey that started with entries pouring in from avid press photographers. The final destination of this picturesque journey is not the announcement of results, but reaching the homes in India, which these winning entries will adorn,” shared Mr. Rajiv Merchant, Co-Founder, Tangerine.

A national level concept like ‘Capture Your City’ Photo Contest proved to be a win-win and unleashed a new trend that of bringing out the hidden photography talent within the country and spreading India’s vivid cityscapes to a wider set of homes.
