Bangalore, January 19, 2016: Jibran Khan, a 10th grader from Greenwood High has staked his claim as India’s promising equestrian for the Youth Olympics that is slated to unfold at Buenos Aires, Argentina in 2018, after he emerged as the Junior National Champion at the Junior National Equestrian Championship that was held in New Delhi recently. After winning a gold in 1.05m show jumping event and producing the best on his horse Claudette, in the feature event- Top Score Speed Class, he is all set to get into the big leagues.

Jibran took his first confident stride as an equestrian at the Ooty horse show five years ago when he was just 11. This was followed by his extremely successful participation in the South Indian Equestrian Championship and the Embassy Premiere League Championships. Each time, he showed his prowess and garnered recognition.

Jibran tasted his first stride of success in the Bangalore Junior Nationals, five months after his striking performance in Udhagamandalam and has not looked back since. A year after his first win, he strutted towards another major win, when he grabbed his first gold in the Junior Nationals, helping his team win a gold and two silvers in the team championships.

Jibran has consistently performed well to reach the top of his game and continues to strive hard to reach higher rungs of success. With around 50 medals already to his credit from different championships over a five year stint, he’s now got his eyes set on the Senior Nationals at Meerut next month, where he will be the youngest participant. Jibran also hopes to put in his A-game and make the cut for the Youth Olympics that is slated to unfold at Buenos Aires, Argentina in 2018. He is also gearing up to participate in the selections for the Asian Games shortly.
