 In addition to an annual scholarship award worth US $2,500 up to two years, the Cargill Global Scholars Program provides leadership development opportunities to the selected students.

New Delhi, January 27, 2017 : For the fifth consecutive year, Cargill continues its partnership with Institute of International Education (IIE) of the Cargill Global Scholars Program which builds a global network of future leaders who will one day make important contributions to advance business, agriculture and food security industries.  The Cargill Global Scholars Program is a is a distinctive two-year leadership development program that not only provides financial support, but provides leadership development training, one-on-one mentoring and industry exposure to Cargill leaders.

The activities under the program have been designed to help foster and enhance leadership potential and critical thinking skills in the students in their second year of university and equip them with the tools necessary for becoming future global leaders and decisions makers.

The finest Indian education institutions including Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, Delhi Technological University (DTU), Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mumbai, The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Tiruchirappalli and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Gandhinagar have partnered with Cargill for the Global Scholars program.

To be eligible for the program, students must demonstrate high academic performance and leadership potential in a field that relates to Cargill’s business goals of providing innovative solutions to meeting today’s economic, environmental and social challenges.. A selection panel will screen online applications consisting of personal statements, academic and extra-curricular details, as well as recommendation letters. Post the reviewing of applications and the committee scores, the highest ranked students will be advanced forward to the second stage of the selection process where the students will be required to participate in in-person interviews. Basis the concluding round of the interviews, the scholars will be declared.

Over the past four years, the Cargill Global Scholars Program (CGSP) has reached more than 240 students from 60 colleges and universities in Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Russia and the United States who are interested in careers in agriculture, food and nutrition. Selected students will be chosen based on their demonstrated high level of academic performance and leadership potential.
