Bangalore, December 28, 2016: Raising the curtains to 2017 is the most awaited award show on television, the “Dabur Red Paste presents Nickelodeon’s Kids Choice Awards 2016 powered by Lifebuoy and Choki Choki”. Power packed and filled with exhilarating experiences, the awards that saw kids vote for their favorite stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Tiger Shroff amongst others is set to premiere on January 1st, 2017 at 6:00pm only on Nickelodeon.

This one of a kind extravaganza has emerged as the most-awaited event of the year in the kids’ calendar.  The spectacular event is sure to provide many memorable experiences and enthralling moments such as Alia Bhatt’s spunky and adorable performance with the Nicktoons Motu Patlu, SHIVA, Dora etc. and Varun Dhawan’s unique act amongst other favourites as well.

Upping the ante on entertainment was the customary and symbolic Green Sime Mania that had the   icon of the year and the Baadshah of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan along with Varun and Alia turn Green. The ‘Green Slime Mania’ is a tradition that is followed by Kids Choice Awards internationally. Following the trend, our beloved Alia and Varun were also slimed by the kids. The twist in the trend was when Alia and Varun slimed the kids back!

Nicktoons like Motu Patlu, Shiva and Dora, walked an exclusive parade which charmed the young audience. The viewers were also entertained with a host of performances by renowned actors and their favorite television stars like Mouni Roy and the Dramebaaz kids. Anchored by everyone’s favorite Manish Paul and Rithvik Dhanjani, the evening was an unmissable celebration for kids.
The King of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan, won the title of Icon of the Year and the stunning Deepika Padukone won the best actress award for Bajirao Mastani. Kala Chashma, the song that has become highly popular amongst kids was voted as the Best Song by kids. The much adored Tiger Shroff was voted as The Dancing Star of the year while Varun Dhawan won the Best Entertainer of the Year award. The kids’ favorite duo, Varun and Alia together won the Kamaal Ki Jodi Award. Motu Patlu received maximum votes and was declared the Best Show on a Kids Channel in the country with Motu winning the Best Indian Cartoon Character of the year award.
