Vivekanand Education Society has always been a pioneer in complementing the academic curriculum with a life skills curriculum. On account of the Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi & Lal Bahadur Shastri, more than 700 students and teachers of Vivekanand English High School, Kurla took part in SWACHH BHARAT ABHIYAN by organizing a Cleanliness Drive on 1st October 2016.

The School took the initiative in creating a Social awareness regarding the importance of cleanliness, not only in one’s home but also in Public places.

The highlight of the campaign was the Cleanliness Drive undertaken by the students and teachers of STD X. More than 100 students of STD X cleaned the Nehru Nagar S.T bus Depot as a Community Service. Students of STD IX to cleaned the School premises, including the playground, corridors etc.
Students of STD V to VIII, many of them dressed as Mahatma Gandhi, Lal Bahadur Shastri,  Narendra Modi and a few of them dressed as a trees, dustbins and community helpers went for a Rally shouting slogans of “ Clean India Green India”.

The Hon. Trustee Shri. Amar Asraniji expressed, “These experiences help students become self-disciplined, open up to new experiences, learn to care about & work with others, understand the larger society and build a sense of what it takes to lead others.”

Overall the activity was conducted with great pomp and show with the whole hearted co- operation of the staff.
