Music for Vision Western Classical concert headlined by Amjad Ali Khan, Sarod Maestro to be held in Mumbai on October 20th


~Concert to raise awareness and funds towards Help Me See global campaign to eradicate Cataract Blindness~

 Mumbai, 12 October,  2016: Get ready for an enthralling Western Classical musical concert that the city will witness this October 20th. Brought together by HelpMeSee and Music for Life International (MFLI), two well-known international organisations, the concert will mark the start of a new phase in the Global Campaign to Eradicate Preventable Cataract Blindness.

The concert is being held at the prestigious Tata Theatre, NCPA on October 20th at 7.30 pm. Music for Vision concert is a unique Indo-US musical collaboration that bring together leading international musicians. They will feature legendary sarod maestro Amjad Ali Khan; distinguished US based Conductor and MFLI Artistic Director, George Mathew; renowned American Violinist; Elmira Darvarova (the first woman ever to serve as Concertmaster of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra in New York); and the Bombay Chamber Orchestra which has brought orchestral music to Indian audiences for more than half a century. The concerts will feature iconic works by Indian and American composers, Amjad Ali Khan who will be soloist in his composition, Samaagam Concerto for Sarod and Orchestra, and Aaron Copland’s Appalachian Spring respectively.
