Thane, October 15, 2016: Thane’s leading shopping destination – KORUM Mall, joined hands with the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) to bring forth the “My Home, My City” initiative, in keeping with the nation-wide Swachh Bharat campaign. Volunteers from the KORUM mall team, together with representatives from TMC were part of the clean-up drive conducted yesterday, 14th October covering the service road outside the Mall.
This was KORUMs 3rd year of cleanliness initiative.
With the aim of keeping every corner of the city clean, the clean-up drive is being implemented by the civic body across areas including malls, roads, railway stations, residential societies, private offices, slum areas. Shri Jayant Patnaik, Deputy Chief Sanitary Inspector, Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) was also present to support the event.
Speaking at the drive, KORUM Mall spokesperson said, “We at KORUM are pleased to be part of such an endeavour to create a clean and healthy environment, not only within our mall but also outside the mall premises. KORUM has always believed and worked towards giving back to the society, and this drive has been an extension of our social initiatives. We thank TMC for their cooperation and hope for such collaborations in the future.”
Previously, KORUM Mall has pledged over 2300 hours to the cleaning and maintenance of the TMC School, which it has adopted since the start of the Swachch Bharat Abhiyan in 2014.
Besides this, as a part of its Swachh Bharat initiative and under the theme “Hamara Station Hamari Shaan” KORUM Mall & Kalpataru Ltd of Kalpataru Group recently participated for the beautification of Central & Western Railway stations that included Thane, Mulund, Santacruz and Goregaon stations. Employees along with other volunteers were engaged in the cleaning and painting of booking windows, platform entrances, railings and foot over-bridges to transform the look and feel of the stations.
