~ A photo exhibition dedicated to highlighting the plight of street kids in Mumbai struck an emotional chord with an encouraging crowd ~
Mumbai 7th October 2016: Infiniti Mall, the number one shopping, food and entertainment destination in Mumbai suburb is a brand which has always placed customer satisfaction and responsibility towards society on an equal pedestal. This time, the mall took up yet another noble initiative, in association Oxfam India. A photo exhibition around the theme #HaqBantaHai was organized at the mall premises dedicated to highlighting the basic fundamental rights of kids who earn a living at Mumbai’s traffic signals.
The photo exhibition revolved around the unique concept of ‘Bitti’- The bookseller!’ featuring a series of stunning photos depicting the story of a poor girl who sells books to support her family. The irony, however, is that she can’t even read the title of the books she sells. This touching exhibition shared a heartbreaking message that just like Bitti, there are 60 lakh children in India who can't afford to go to school.
“Mumbai is home to hundreds of such children and through this event, Oxfam has presented a different side of this community. We feel proud to house an event that highlighted such an important and pressing issue”, said Mukesh Kumar, VP Infiniti Mall.
The exhibition went on from 4th to 6th October 2016 at Infiniti Malad, seeing the active participation and encouragement from patrons. A Wish Tree was also put up in the mall, to offer patrons an opportunity to fulfill the wishes of the underprivileged, through Oxfam India. Mumbai is home to hundreds of such children and through this event, Oxfam has presented a different side of this community.
