“With a rise in tourist and pilgrim footfalls to the temple towns in Andhra Pradesh, issues of sanitation have become key challenge areas for policy makers. The newly developed e-toilet facility of Eram Scientific has not only provided the general public with an affordable sanitation alternative, it is also a unique cleanliness initiative which can be replicated en masse by rural and town-planning bodies,” stated Shri K.Krishna Moorthy, Deputy Chief Minister. Andhra Pradesh.

Differing from contemporary conventional sanitation utilities, the unit installed at the Devasthanam is unmanned and has a self-cleaning mechanism with provisions like automatic floor washing. The hygiene status of the unit, which is access controlled, can be remotely monitored over a web interface. All the e-toilet facilities of Eram are well-connected and users can easily identify the presence of the nearest unit through a free downloadable app from Google play store. All e-toilet units are equipped with optional amenities like sanitary napkin incinerators and vending machines. Eram is the TOT holder of DRDO, bio digester and possesses the technical know-how and expertise to install e-toilets where there are no sewage facilities. The Kerala-based company, part of the USD 1 billion Eram Group of Saudi Arabia, has been instrumental in introducing the concept of integrated public toilets in the country to address the issue of public sanitation. Till date, Eram has installed more than 2,000 e-toilets in 18 States across India.

“This is the 5th unit installed in Kurnool district and we have already installed 2 e-toilets for the Kurnool Municipal Corporation. Eram has also expanded its operational footprints across other temple cities such as Tirupati and Madurai. We remain committed to providing modern sanitation amenities at an affordable cost to the pilgrims and tourists on a round the clock basis,” stated Ms. Bincy Baby, Director, Eram Scientific Solutions.
