Student Walkathon and Student Heart Formation on World Heart Day
Bengaluru, 29th September 2016: World Heart Day is an international campaign organised annually by the World Heart Federation with the aim to create awareness about heart diseases and promote heart health among the masses.
The 150+ students of class five of CMR National Public School, Kalyan Nagar as a demonstration of this principle of healthy heart created a heart-shaped formation along with placards, heart-shaped balloon. Dr. Adil Sadiq, Senior Consultant and Head, Adult Cardiac Surgery at Sakra World Hospital explained to them the idea of "Power Your Heart" campaign and gave them various tips and pointers to adhere to the same. The students with new vigour had a walkathon to share with the world the message of Healthy Heart is a Happy Heart and Power Your Heart.
"It was a pleasure in engaging with young minds and explaining to them the importance of heart health and how to power your heart. The young generation, no longer are inclined towards physical activities. Often due to the pressure of studies and advancement in technology has them shackled in their homes. It is important for youngsters to understand the need of a clean healthy diet, avoid junk food, getting some physical activity and adequate sleep to prevent future development of cardiovascular diseases. I hope they have understood the importance of getting some sun to boost the health of their hearts." said Dr. Adil Sadiq, Senior Consultant and Head, Adult Cardiac Surgery at Sakra World Hospital
The Theme of World Heart Day 2016 is 'Power Your Heart' which aims to promote the various values and habits to be followed for a healthy heart. With the aim to promote this concept Sakra World Hospital in collaboration with CMR National Public School, Kalyan Nagar aims to instill the young mind the idea and importance of inculcating values which can assure a healthier life.
