New Delhi, 14 September, 2016: Essel Infraprojects Limited, the country’s largest integrated player in road & transport sector and part of Dr Subhash Chandra led diversified Essel conglomerate, today announced the appointment of Mr. Krishna Prakash Maheshwari Chief Executive Officer of Essel Highways Limited.

Mr. Maheshwari will be leading the business development & operations strategy and initiatives for the road and transport businesses at Essel Infraprojects Ltd. His endeavor is to drive the growth agenda of the roads and transport segment of the company.

Mr. Maheshwari’s joining of Essel Group is significant in the backdrop of  Essel Highways securing USD 85- mn debenture issuance from leading global investment bank, Golddman Sachs. The infusion of funds has strengthened Essel’s ability to grow its road project portfolio and allow for additional strategic acquisitions. The development further consolidates Essel’s position towards becoming the most valued infrastructure company in India.

Mr. Maheshwari has over two decades of experience across various verticals of the infrastructure sector. Prior to joining essel, Mr. Maheshwari was heading the Integrated Environment Infrastructure business of UPL Ltd. He has also donned various hats during this 12years stint with Reliance Infrastructure. He was the CEO of metro business and played a key role in the setting up of the first line of Mumbai Metro as well on the Delhi Airport Express.

Mr. Maheshwari began his career with IFCI, the first Development Finance Institution in the country and handled all aspects of Project Finance across a wide gamut of industries.

Mr Maheshwari holds a Bachelors of Engineering in Electronics and Communication from Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi followed with a Masters in Business Administration-Finance from Institute of Social Welfare & Business Management, Kolkata. His expertise in technology and sharp business acumen is ample testimony to his strong educational background.
