HYDERABAD, September 10, 2016: The Govt. of Telangana has stressed the role of farm mechanization and increased its budget allocation to Rs. 426 crore this year from the existing Rs. 150 crore. Talking about the farming practices in US & India, Shri. C. Parthasarathi, IAS APC & Government Secretary, Govt. of Telangana in his valedictory address said: "The Government of Telangana will focus more attention on the rejuvenation of farm ponds and water tanks for agriculture sector to improve productivity."

Talking about making Telangana Seed Capital of India, Shri. C. Parthasarathi said the Govt. has accorded highest priority to quality seed production and government agencies from HACA are working on seed production initiatives. The Government plans to have Soyabean crop seed multiplication for self sufficiency with the help of Madhya Pradesh farmers for this kharif season & plan to have it raised in Telangana to achieve self sufficiency.

To encourage technology in agriculture sector, the Government plans to train 440 Mandal Agriculture Officers as agronomists. The Government is working in close coordination to receive Rs. 1000 crore funding for micro-irrigation from NABARD. The distribution of soil health cards for better nutrient management of farmers has scaled 4.9 lakh cards of the 10 lakh cards and the rest will be completed during the year, he said at the event being organized by Kenes Exhibitions & Govt. of Telangana  at HITEX Grounds, Hyderabad from September 8-10, 2016. 

Over 2000 farmers and nearly 1000 visitors thronged the second day of the 3-day Exhibition-cum-Conference being held at HITEX Grounds. Farmers came from far & away places Hundreds of delegates & over 100 students from Prof. Jayashankar Telangana State Agriculture University attended the special sessions with exemplary speakers. The sessions included topics on Farm Mechanization & Water Conservation, Agri-Financing & Crop Insurance and Policies for Seed Business.
