New Delhi, 15 September 2016 :India’s growth hinges on the quality and supply of trained manpower. Several surveys suggest that fresh engineering graduates lack in employability. Industry experts often point out that fresh graduates call for a lot of industry-specific training after joining the company before they begin to contribute productively.

In view of this, the Galgotias University with its strong commitment to produce technologists and business leaders with problem solving skills, has joined hands with the Rs. 9100 crores JBM Group,a name to reckon with in the automotive industry, for a collaborative Industry Integrated Bachelor of Technology Program in Mechanical Engineering. It will focus on training engineering graduates with all round skills so that they can excel in the business world.

So what is this B. Tech. in Mechanical Engineering – Industry Integrated Program that the two heavyweights in their respective fields have decided to launch?

The new program has been envisaged keeping in mind Galgotia’s core principles of industry-linked, technology-based and research-driven learning.

“The USP of the program includes industry relevant curricula, pedagogy aligned with industry environment delivered by distinguished experts, student’s engagement with the industry from the very first year, hands-on learning in JBM’s state-of- the-art production facilities, industry integrated projects under mentorship from JBM experts and of course assured placement with offer letter at the time of admission” says GU Chancellor, Mr. SuneelGalgotia.

Through exposure toa transformational process involving theoretical lessons, industry practice and other co-curricular components, the program will help to create highly skilled professionals and leaders trained to operate in a competitive and complex technology-driven business environment.

“Students will also learn from JBM’s senior professionals who will give them invaluable industry insights. All this will culminate in job offers to students by JBM, provided they fulfill the specified conditions,” says JBM Group’s spokesperson, Mr. Vineet Kumar Agarwal, Business Head, JBM Cadmium.
Hopefully, this joint venture will help provide well-trained and employable engineering graduates to fulfil some of India’s need for socially responsible technologists and business leaders.
