Mumbai, India (September 3rd 2016) – ALDO, an international leader in fashion footwear and accessories held its Fall ’16 collection launch event, hosted by actress Yami Gautam, where unique artworks were specially created in collaboration with renowned artist, Jahangir Asgar Jani. The event took place on September 2nd at The Palladium, Lower Parel, India’s first and only true lifestyle destination.

For the occasion, a pop-up art gallery was built to display Aldo’s new fall’16 products as well as Mr. Jani’s artworks which were inspired by the collection.The soiree saw the crème de la crème of the city namely, Sayani Gupta, Shamita Shetty, Amayra Dastur, Bhumi Pednekar, Waluscha De Souza, Saqib Saleem attending the event in style and panache.
Throughout the afternoon, guests discovered the Fall collection showcased on podiums while enjoying the lovely Ambience. Aldo’s latest collection featured hues and modern neutrals for women and casual athletic styles and business-wear with sophisticated details for men.
Speaking about the event, Mr. Tushar Ved (President Major Brands India Pvt Ltd) said, “We are thrilled to launch the Fall Collection in collaboration with Jahangir Asgar Jani. We continue to seek exclusive collaborations with those who believe in transforming the everyday, and this artwork is a true testament to that spirit. The collection is beautifully depicted through his artwork which is a confluence of fashion and art. We are also extremely happy to have the lovely Yami Gautam with us who is an ardent ALDO fan.”
Speaking about the collaboration, artist Mr. Jani said, “It has been an absolute pleasure to collaborate with ALDO. I was especially inspired by the new season’s footwear that can be worn for many different occasions. For the artworks I’ve created, I chose concrete and ALDO products as my medium as to immortalize the beautiful products. The artworks also serve as practical visual presentations by helping to demonstrate what the shoes look like when worn on a daily basis, since a lot of the walking that we do is, in fact, on concrete.”
About the event and the collection, Ms. Yami Gautam said, “It is great to be a part of this grand event. It is amazing to see how the collection has been exquisitely translated into art. I am a complete ALDO fan as the shoes are extremely stylish and versatile. The Fall Collection has something for every occasion and is perfect for any man or woman who want to get the perfect look for their outfit.”

The general public will be invited to view and interact with the installation at The Palladium from the 3rd of September to the 11th of September.
