The Economic Times Best Infrastructure Brands 2016 is a platform to recognize infrastructure organizations that have stood the test of time and set a benchmark despite the multiple challenges faced by the industry. 

New Delhi, September 28, 2016: Essel Infraprojects Ltd (EIL) has been bestowed with The Economic Times – Best Infrastructure Brand 2016 at a glittering function held in New Delhi on September 27, 2016. Krishna Prakash Maheshwari, CEO, Essel Highways of Essel Infraprojects was felicitated at the hands of Mr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Minister of State( Roads, Transport & Highway). This indeed is yet another feather to EIL’s well-adorned cap.

The Economic Times Best Infrastructure Brands 2016 recognize top performing companies in the infrastructure sector who have risen to multiple challenges like rising interest rates, stagnant order inflows, inflation and choked profitability, and stood up to the test of time. The evaluation was done in association with KPMG, which was The Economic Times’ knowledge and research partner. The brands were included based on the order book value, delivered projects & media visibility. The parameters for the research methodology also included timely execution, innovation, quality of projects delivered, diversity of projects, execution capabilities and ethical business practices. Orgaizations were then shortlisted under three different categories based on their market capitalization: under INR 500 cr, 500-1000 cr and more than 1000 cr. 

EIL has been widely recognized and awarded by various prestigious industry bodies like Smart City Council of India, World CSR Congress, Golden Peacock Awards and IAMAI etc. for its innovative solutions, use of new technologies and excellence in projects. While most infrastructure players are over-leveraged and facing a liquidity, EIL has been in focus for attracting huge investments. In August, Goldman Sachs invested $220 million in its EIL’s ‘Highways’ arm; similarly, in March, EIL’s ‘Solar’ asset holding company secured loans of $132 million from Piramal Enterprises Limited and Dutch pension fund manager APG Asset Management.
