As per the latest Ministry of Environment communication, Currently 62,000 MLD of wastewater is generated in Urban area of India while the capacity for treating wastewater stands at a mere 23,000 MLD.

The per capita water supply currently stands at 188.73 litres/day. A massive 73% of this becomes waste water, demonstrating the seriousness of the waste water problem. India ranks an alarming III rd position in the list of most water polluted countries based on the deteriorating quality of water ranking.
By the year 2030, water demand is expected to grow to 1.5 trillion Cu.m.,with supply at about 740 billion Cu.m,leading to a whopping 50% shortage in India.In this scenario, waste water recycle and reuse is a more economical measure compared to any other, thus increasing the demand for waste water pumps and treatment systems.
