India is the UAE’s second-largest trading partner and the UAE is India’s third-largest trading partner after China and the US. Both countries plan to increase trade to 60 per cent in the next five years.


Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to UAE in August last year after a gap of 34 years, marked the beginning of a new and comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries. Ajman Free Zone senior delegation visit is seen as a step towards further strengthening trade relations and to boost financial ties between the two countries. 


His Excellency, Mahmood Al Hashemi, General Manager of Ajman Free Zone said, "The two countries share bonds of cultural affinity and have strong commercial and trade linkages, we look forward to further strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.”

Ajman Free Zone was established in 1988 and was granted autonomous status under the Emiri Decree No 3 of 1996 issued by His Highness Sheikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Ruler of Ajman. Ajman Free Zone is named as the sole regulatory agency for the free zone in the Emirate.
