August 11 2016 Chennai: Chennai is all set to host the qualifying round of The Sweden India Nobel Memorial Quiz 2016, at Ethiraj College for women on August 20, 2016 at 10:30am. The 11-city Inter-Collegiate quiz competition is a part of the Sweden–India Nobel Memorial Week, which is celebrating its 10th Edition.The Week is organized by the Embassy of Sweden in New Delhi along with leading Swedish companies in India. It aims to promote bilateral relations especially in the industrial and economic field and showcases Swedish companies’ contributions, including knowledge and innovation. These are also values that Nobel stands for. The Week also celebrates the spirit and contribution of the Swedish innovator, entrepreneur and philanthropist Alfred Nobel.
The Sweden India Nobel Memorial Quiz brings together quizzers from across reputed colleges and institutes of the city. Participation to this prestigious Quiz is open to all under-Graduate andpost-Graduate students in teams of three, representing a college.
Winners of the Chennai round will represent the city at the National Finals to be held in New Delhi on October 7, 2016.
Qualifying rounds will also be held in Indore, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Bhubaneswar, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Guwahati and New Delhi.
There will also be daily questions and prizes to be won on Sweden in India Facebook page--www.facebook.com/swedenindia.
National winners will get an all-expense paid trip to Sweden, where they will get to visit headquarters of the partnering companies, Swedish universities and the Nobel Museum.
