Lead-up to the event to be held on October 16, 2016
Bangalore 09 August 2016: The third edition of the Shriram Properties Bengaluru Marathon’s special event - the 36 Hour Stadium Run was held at Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bangalore on 6th and 7th August 2016. This was a special event in the build-up to the main event which is slated for October 16, 2016.

The event was a resounding success with enthusiastic runners coming out during the wee hours of the morning and pushing themselves to a grueling 36 hour run, which was completed by them late evening of the next day. With over 90 participants in the 36 Hour Stadium Run, the Individual Category of 36 Hour, 24 Hour and 12 Hour, each participant ran around the 400 mtrs track for the entire period of time. This event has been introduced with a vision of popularising running within the community, where the spectators came in large numbers to cheer the participants.

The Stadium Run Team Relay Category consisting of a 6 member team - 4 men and 2 women, saw over 58 teams participate through the day with each running for a block of 2 hour.
Race Director Nagaraj Adiga felicitated all the winners. The team relay contestants clocked in some serious miles.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. M Murali, Managing Director, Shriram Properties said, “Shriram Properties is the proud sponsor of the only full marathon in Bengaluru city, a city we call our home as we started our operations here. Highlighting the importance of sports and fitness, Mr. Nagaraj Adiga, Race Director, Shriram Properties Bengaluru Marathon, said, “The number of people in Bengaluru who have taken to running as a route to fitness has increased tremendously over the past two years. This is the third edition and the response from the running community has been tremendous. They have been out on the track all through the 36 hours, which speaks about their dedication and passion towards running. We have had spectators come in, with a lot of them getting inspired to run in order to maintain health and physical fitness.”
