New Courses Launched by ICSI - The Institute of Company Secretaries of India


New Delhi, 10th August 2016: 
The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), the premier professional body for the regulation and development of the profession of Company Secretaries in India, today unveiled four new courses for its students and members for enhancing and further develop their skill sets. These courses are launched in association with National Institute of Financial Management, Faridabad and the duration ranges from 3 months to 15 days.

Speaking on the launch, Ms Mamta Binani, President, ICSI said, “In support to Hon’ble Prime Minsters thrust for bringing in transparency and accountability in corporate governance, ICSI has launched these courses for the Company Secretaries in establishing accountability, transparency and conformity with applicable rules and regulations. These courses will also help in enhancing the skill sets of CS in today’s globally demanding and challenging financial environment.”

These courses are as follows-

·         Certificate course in Valuation: With the aim of providing candidates with a competitive edge as they pursue a number of different career paths within the financial marketplace, this course is designed to offer an intensive instruction and training needed to successfully compete in rapidly developing global financial markets. The registration for the course will commence from 01st August, 2016. The duration of the course is 3 months and the fee is Rs12,500 plus service tax.

·         Diploma in Internal Audit: This course is designed to develop the skills of CS to conduct internal audit including compliance and operational audits, offering solutions for weaknesses in internal controls and verifying the subjective compliance of related laws and regulations. The registration for the course will commence from 01st August, 2016. The duration of the courses is 3 months and the fee is Rs12,500 plus service tax.
 
·         E- Learning Module on Banking Terminologies: With the structural contribution of Banking Industry in the development of Indian economy at global platform and the need to exemplify the technical banking terminologies for the professionals, the Institute is launching short term all-encompassing e-learning module on Banking Terminologies. The registration for the course will commence from 01st August, 2016. The fee for the course Rs1000/- for ICSI students and is Rs4500/- for non ICSI members.

·         Course in International Business Taxation: The objective of this course is to provide specialized knowledge in all aspects of the international taxation. This is a 15 days online course. The registration for the course will commence from 01st August, 2016. The duration of the courses is 3 months and the fee is Rs5000 inclusive of service tax.

Given the recent cases of corporate fraud and embezzlement a lot of companies are taking interest in starting afresh on building robust compliance systems. Companies now are aiming for improving transparency and taking concrete steps to enhance skill sets of its employees and ensure corruption free work environment.
