Bangalore, August 25th, 2016: Hairline International Hair and Skin Clinic unveiled a book titled Prevention and Management of Hair Loss, a Guide to Nutritional and Lifestyle Factors, recently. This book has been co-authored by Dr. Premalatha, Dermatosurgeon, Hairline International and Dr. Imtiaz, Dermatologist, Hairline International.

Hairline International Launches Comprehensive Book With Nutritional and Lifestyle Advice on Hair Loss Prevention and Management

The focus of the book is on the causes of hair loss from nutritional deficiencies and lifestyle factors. It also provides comprehensive solutions for prevention and management of hair loss in relation to nutrition and lifestyle changes. The book covers everything from the causes of hair loss to its medical management, tips to combat a sedentary life style, healthy hair care habits and delicious recipes to include in your diet for healthy hair.

Hairline International is involved in extensive research projects towards the creation of better procedures for its clientele. In the course of its research, Hairline International has found that a variety of lifestyle factors, also known as behavioural factors or health related habits, play a major role in overall health and wellbeing.

Speaking on this research and the book, Dr. Premalatha says, “An important aspect of lifestyle factors is that one can modify them, if they are causing ill health. Unhealthy lifestyle practices along with causing diabetes, hypertension and cardiovascular illnesses, can also profoundly affect hair quality. Thus, a healthy lifestyle is an essential prerequisite for healthy hair”.

The research, as well as the book, lists out certain ‘bad health behavior’ such as constant stress, sedentary lifestyle, vices such as smoking, drinking and substance abuse, irregular sleep patterns, unhealthy hair care practices and an unhealthy diet.

Dr. Imtiaz says, “Nutritional inadequacies are a wide-spread population problem in India. During the evaluation of patients with hair fall, several blood investigations brought out iron profiles, hemoglobin, Vitamin B12 deficiencies, along with hormonal variations and a higher incidence of diabetes, altered lipid profile and the like”. All of this has been documented in detail in the book, giving the reader an in-depth understanding of how nutrition and lifestyle inadequacies can manifest itself in the form of hair loss.

“We understand, and what people need to understand too, is that the first step towards a solution to such hair problems, is always prevention rather than a cure”, said Bani Anand, Founder and Managing Director of Hairline International Hair and Skin Clinic. While unveiling the book “Implementing a healthy lifestyle will reduce the incidence of several diseases. This has motivated us to come up with book where all the information needed to make an informed decision is easily available”.

The book is available at all leading book stores.
