Governor Encourages Greater Private Investment in Healthcare in Bihar


Patna, August 27, 2016: Mr Ramnath Kovind, Hon’ble Governor of Bihar, said, on the occasion of Paras HMRI Hospital, Patna receiving the prestigious NABH certification: “We are thankful and honoured by the presence of robust private players who have been instrumental in providing the highest quality of medical service to the people of the state. They have not just integrated themselves with the people of the land, but have also ensured a village-to-village, a panchayat-to-panchyat connection to revolutionise the healthcare system of the state. I congratulate the enthusiastic team and dedicated staff of  Paras Patna, for establishing yet again a landmark for the state and for many others healthcare providers to follow.”

Bihar is the third-highest populated state in the country with more than 1 billion people. The potential in terms of manpower, intellectual prowess and industrial strength is yet to be tapped. With ventures like these, the honourable governor felt, the development of Bihar is not a distant dream, but an immediate reality.

The National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH) is a national body set up under the Quality Council of India, to establish and operate accreditation programmes for healthcare organizations. The certification they provide covers all the aspects of hospital management such as disaster management, infection control practices, equipment maintenance, customer feedback, credential checking, employee satisfaction, amongst other areas. It has the support of all stakeholders: industry, consumers, government. It operates an autonomous unit.
