~Over 25 differently abled people participated in the event~
India August 9, 2016: DLF Place, Saket in cooperation with Udaan (a Delhi based NGO helping differently abled citizens all over India), South District Legal services Authority (SDLA) and Fit By Nature organised a special fitness event for differently-abled people on Sunday, August 7, 2016. The event which started at 9:00 AM in the morning and saw enthusiastic participation (partcipants were members of Udaan). Organised with an objective of promoting equality for people with special needs and to make them aware about their rights and privileges, the event flow consisted of various activities like dance, customized workout and physiotherapy session, keeping in mind specific needs of each participant.
Each participant right at the start of the event were given bibs and t-shirts. Over 25 differently abled people took part in this event, where they were accompanied by some volunteers from Udaan, to help them in case of any emergency. Keeping their safety and health a major criteria for concern, an ambulance along with a doctor was also present on the site along with a physiotherapist to design a specialized workout regime for every participant. The event's fitness partner Fit By Nature, also conducted activities like stretching, dancing and balloon games for the participants to increase the fun quotient.
Adding interactive touch to this fitness event, two representatives from the South District Legal services Authority (SDLA) addressed the participants and briefed them about their legal rights and services that SDLSA offers; which was followed by a warm up and dance session. In addition to this, a cool down or stretching session was done, which was monitored by a physiotherapist. A special award ceremony also took place at the end of the event along with distribution of goodie bags and refreshments for the participants.
Speaking about the event, Ms Benu Sehgal, Senior Vice President, DLF Place, Saket said, “Special people need special attention. In our series of fitness activities, we have come up with a very special event for special people. The health and fitness regimes are specially designed to achieve maximum benefits.”
Talking further about the activities conducted during the event, she said “Since, fitness is the core of this event, we along with our fitness partner ‘Fit By Nature’ arranged some fun activities for the participants which included workout and dance session. Besides, to make the event more interactive, officials from South District Legal services Authority (SDLA) will be present to address the participants and make them aware about their rights and privileges.”
To keep up the energy quotient, the participants were provided refreshing beverages from Fiasco and lip smacking food from Doner Grill.
