Cambridge English Language Assessment signed a MoU with the Government of Telangana's initiative -TASK


03 August 2016 Hyderabad: Cambridge English Language Assessment (Part of the University of Cambridge) has signed a MoU with Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK) which will help the students of Telangana to enhance their language and communication skills and to compete with their global competitors.They have collaborated with the intention of introducing various techniques and projects to help the students of the state to develop their confidence in communicating in English like a native speaker.

Cambridge English is the world's leading authority on English language testing.Their tests are globally recognised, high- quality assessments which have a positive impact on the learning of English.TASK was created by the Government of  Telangana for bringing synergy among institutions of Government, Industry &Academia with an objective   of offering quality human resources and services to the industry. About 478 colleges and 36720 students of Telangana have registered with TASK in this academic year 2016-2017.

The main aim of the MoU between Cambridge English and TASK is to improve the quality of teaching and learning English for students in TASK registered colleges. It also aims to introduce a standardised international testing system for English which is linked to the CEFR international benchmarks across a pilot branch of students from TASK registered colleges and to organise joint conferences, workshops, seminars and other short term training programmes related to English language teaching. Initiatives from TASK are focused around the concept of Employability Quotient that includes three key skill dimensions, namely, personal, technical and organizational.

TASK will pilot the Cambridge English: Business English Certificates (BEC) examination in three districts of  Telangana.Cambridge English will provide TASK with the appropriate guidance on any issue relating to teaching English for its students and teachers and to organise joint workshops and conferences for teachers which will help them improve their teaching methodology and prepare students for the CambridgeEnglish exams and offer guidance to TASK for improving its research & development programmes in English language especially in the areas of designing curriculum and offering specific language courses.

Cambridge  English works with several partners  across India to promote the use of standardised international  assessments  as benchmark  levels to improve the learning and teaching of English and is keen to work with TASK to give the teachers and students of its registered colleges access to international English qualifications.
